Additional Courses

We are also running courses on specific topics related to Deaf people and other social groups:

• Assertiveness for Deaf People: Learn through practical examples how to gain confidence and achieve wellbeing.

• Diversity and Equality:  Learn about the people that make up our society, their experiences and how we as individuals and organisations can avoid actions and polices that discriminate.

• Human Rights: Understand the Human Rights Act (1998) and the UN convention on the rights of Persons with Disabilities (2009) and how to relate to real life situations.

• Disability Discrimination Act: Understand how the DDA 2005 affects different aspects of disabled peoples' lives. How it sets out standards to protect and improve access to services for disabled people 

• Deaf History and Politics : A fascinating journey into the Deaf world. Find out how British Sign Language developed, the key people involved in our history and our fight for Deaf rights.

• Apprenticeships

We are currently running courses for several organisations and can deliver these at your workplace, community or conference centre or indeed any suitable venue.  Our courses are Deaf-led and you can therefore rely on the integrity of the information.
